It is the season of Thanksgiving...once again! We have so much to be thankful for in Lanesboro - our public school, our outdoor recreation opportunities (thank you DNR!), multiple organizations to get involved with (Sons of Norway, Lanesboro Museum, VFW, Chamber, EDA...), volunteers, entrepreneurs, a strong arts community, new underground infrastructure around our building (thank you City!), neighbors helping neighbors, and so much more.
We want to highlight our strong arts community by showcasing Lanesboro Arts' Fall Fine Art Auction! This non-profit has an art gallery (with free exhibits!) on Parkway Avenue, manages an overnight rental, hosts musicians and shows at the St. Mane Theatre and at Gateway Park, brings Artists in Residence to Lanesboro, conducts art making workshops for youth, and so much more. Their annual fundraiser is online this year, and you must check out the amazing art and experiences that are for sale by visiting their website, https://lanesboroarts.org/support/auction/. It is an easy sign up on the auction site, and get bidding, as it all ends this Sat., Nov. 19, at 12pm. Find unique items for yourself or someone else - this is an impressive auction for one of Lanesboro's amazing non-profits.
Tomorrow, Thurs., Nov. 17, 2022, is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota! Be sure to give thanks for the amazing organizations that bring vitality and sustainability to rural Minnesota by donating on Give to the Max Day. Visit givemn.org to find the organization you want to give thanks to.
Our small town is better because of the collaboration and teamwork that our many organizations, parents, adults, students, entrepreneurs, employees, managers, and more utilize to accomplish small and big tasks. We are grateful for Lanesboro Arts, for our community, and for all who come to Lanesboro. Be sure to show your gratefulness (donations, hugs, mail a card, phone call, volunteer time and talent...) this Thanksgiving season.
