It is safe to say this season has been busy! We are in the full swing of things in beautiful downtown Lanesboro, and we are so grateful to all who have traveled to our welcoming little town for their vacation, meeting, family reunion, or weekend getaway. As we near August, we prepare to celebrate our town's annual event, Buffalo Bill Days, for the 37th year! Buffalo Bill Days of course is in homage to Buffalo Bill Cody, who performed his first world-famous wild west show in Lanesboro in 1900. Prior to 1900, Buffalo Bill would come to Lanesboro to visit his old Army friend, Dr. Powell, who had set up a medical practice in Lanesboro. It was during these visits that Buffalo Bill and Dr. Powell came up with the idea to start a wild west show. And the rest is history!
After a reduced schedule in 2020, this year's Buffalo Bill Days is back with all of the regular activities including Thursday's Sip and Savor event, volleyball and softball tournaments, Buffalo Roam fun runs, all-school reunion, a staged bank robbery, Saturday night fireworks, beverage & brat tent, Sunday's grand parade, and so much more. Find a full list of all of the acitivites on the City of Lanesboro's website here: https://www.lanesboro-mn.gov/buffalo-bill-days/.
Just as we are grateful for Buffalo Bill's visits to Lanesboro over 125 years ago, we are grateful for your visit to historic bluff country!
