Our tiny but mighty little town and surrounding area puts on many festivals and events each year (over 26), and it is exciting to see them all returning after two-year hiatuses. These events are organized and executed by non-profits, area artists, business owners, organizations, and more and have a collaboration with many partners, like the City of Lanesboro, the Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce, and our Lanesboro Businesses Promotion Group. It is exciting and inspiring to see what these volunteers can do! Some guests plan their visits around these events, and we encourage you to try that too! Here are some of our stand-out events happening this Spring and Summer:
- May 19-22: Bluff Country Gathering - the town is taken over by musicians from all over the Midwest to have workshops, concerts, and even a square dance! If you walk around downtown that weekend, you will be sure to hear some great musicians.
- May 30: Lanesboro honors Memorial Day with a program with speakers, music, and more.
- June 4: Did you know Lanesboro is officially the Rhubarb Capital of Minnesota? Yes, we proudly display that honor, especially through our annaul Rhubarb Festival, alwasy the first Saturday in June. Come to Sylvan Park, starting at 10am, for the Farmers' Market, Rhubarb games, Rhubarb fashion show, music, treats for sale, goats, and more! You never know what you will see or taste...all made with local rhubarb!
- June 17-18: the Root River Trail Towns team up for a 60-mile garage sale!
- June 18: Lanesboro Arts' hosts their annual Art in the Park in Sylvan Park. You will find food, music, and so much art (jewelry, print, canvas, fabrics, yard & garden ornaments, photography, woodworking, and more). You don't want to miss Art in the Park.

There is music, volleyball tournaments, food vendors, street dance, fireworks, and the grand parade on Sunday.
The festivals and events don't stop in August. We are so grateful to have so many things to see and do in Lanesboro and around the area. It truly takes a village to keep everything running, and we have a lot of amazing villagers doing just that!
