Fall leaf peeping is the perfect time to visit Lanesboro are beautiful bluff country. Bike the trails or drive our country roads for breathtaking views and color. If you want to leave the driving up to someone else, consider taking a guided Amish tour with Bluffscape Amish Tours out of Lanesboro. During the Amish tour, you will learn about Amish culture and history while visiting many farms and workshops to see everything from woodworking to baking to quilting.
In nearby Preston, MN, you can find fresh-basked apple pie, apple turnovers, as well as kolahces and hamentashen cookies, at Blossom Hill Orchard and Farm. You can also pick out pumpkins, mums, and the famous University of MN apples such as Honeycrisp and SweeTango. A visit to a local orchard is must-do in the Fall.
Bring the whole family for a trip to Big Springs Farm Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, just located outside Lanesboro, at 32060 Furrow Road, Lanesboro. This family-farm offers a stellar corn maze, pick your own pumpkins, tractor wagon rides, delicious treats, multiple games, and more. It is an easy drive, on newly-paved state highway 250, to this amazing fall mecca which will please everyone in your family, young and old!
The Commonweal Theatre, our live professional theatre company, has plays going through Sunday, December 18, 2022. November and December weekends can be a great time to come to Lanesboro to relax, enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal, and take in the stories at the Commonweal Theatre or visual art at Lanesboro Arts Gallery.
Cedar Valley Resort in nearby Whalan rents cross country skis and snowshoes. If we get decent snowfall, portions of the bike trail are groomed for cross-country skiing. Two favorite places to snowshoe are Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center (located just outside of Lanesboro) and Isinours State Forest Unit located in between Lanesboro and Preston (29604 246th St, Preston, MN 55965).
